On July 29th, 2017, my husband and I found a beautiful 40 acre property above Blue Lake, California overlooking Humboldt Bay and the Pacific Ocean. We were so amazed by such an opportunity that we decided such a special place could serve much more than our own personal interests. We wrote our mission statement for a regional Permaculture Educational Farm, Retreat, and Event Space that very night.

In June of 2018, after selling my home in Arcata, we and another couple purchased the property. We began work right away so that we could live and work on here; by November we moved into our unfinished tiny home. It’s been a tremendous financial stretch that we felt necessary as part of our obligation to future generations well being.

Since then, we sold our second property in Arcata, California, liquidated an IRA, and committed all of our resources, including uncountable hours of physical energy, to fulfill our mission.

Local food security, affordable housing, sustainable forests, ecotourism jobs are just some of the community services we have been working on ever since.

We held our first workshop, Permaculture Approach to Developing Raw Land, in July of 2018. Since then we have concentrated efforts on building the infrastructure needed to fulfill our mission. The pandemic certainly effected our progress.

Our original partners have decided to sell their shares in the property. In order to save this Permaculture Educational Farm and our home we need your help.

You can support these efforts in many ways, so please share this page, email us to get updates, or if you're interested in becoming an investor or volunteer please go to our website for more information.

Supporter Opportunities

Supporter options for people who want to be more directly involved with Prairie’s Edge. We offer benefits for each tier where supporters can receive as much or more value than they contributed. Benefits are flexible and transferable. For people at a distance, products we can ship them may be more useful than camping and farm stays. All tiers receive invitations to all of our events and workshops.

If you are interested in the Support option, please contact us directly by phone (707-825-7335) or e-mail (ecovillagebuilders@gmail.com).
